As a communications director for a new research institute at the University of New Hampshire, Amy succeeded at building a strong brand and reputation for the organization. She worked with experts across the university to train them in storytelling skills in order to reach their audiences beyond the classroom, making their research relevant to wide and diverse audiences. She led several events series, including the Stonyfield Entrepreneurship Institute. She also led the organization through a name change, a rebranding, and strategic plan.
As the youngest marketing and brand manager in Random House’s history, her creative plans led to nine New York Times best sellers as well as hundreds of other successful books and brands. She was named manager of their business-to-business program. She presented new titles at national sales conferences, toured with bestselling authors, and analyzed data around the viability of book proposals of every size. She famously (to her anyway) argued against contracting what would become the bestseller "Who Moved My Cheese?" Her skills have since improved.
Amy has published case studies on socially innovative businesses and magazine articles on historical homes, modern feminism, corporate communications, and public policy.
She enjoys a good story, and loves helping good speakers become great storytellers.
Amy has an MBA from the University of New Hampshire and she is a board member of the New Hampshire Women's Foundation. Past board work has included the National Rural Assembly, Portsmouth Historical Society, and the HUB Family Resource Center.
